Jennifer E. Decker received B.Sc. in Honours Physics from University of Waterloo and Ph.D. in Physics from Université Laval, Québec. She joined the National Research Council of Canada (NRC) Institute for National Measurement Standards in 1992 and became known for her research on measurement science, standards and uncertainty evaluation. She is also experienced in calibration laboratory assessment and Quality System accreditation.  Dr. Decker assumed various leadership roles in international measurement science, and served on the Executive of the Canadian Advisory Committee to International Standards Organization (ISO) during the early development stages of international policy and technical committees for nanotechnology.  She has international research experience as a Fellow of the German Alexander von Humboldt Foundation as guest researcher at the Physikalisch Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB Braunschweig) and currently serves as a Canadian Humboldt Ambassador Scientist.  During 2011-2015, Dr. Decker served with Canadian Global Affairs as Counsellor, Science and Technology at the Embassy of Canada in Berlin, Germany.  Upon returning to NRC in the Office of the Vice President, Emerging Technologies she undertook various roles involved in development and planning of research collaboration partnerships, and women in science initiatives.  She currently serves as Executive Advisor to the NRC Chief Digital Research Officer.
