Dr. Parshati Patel is an astrophysicist, science communicator and educator based in London, Ontario (Canada). She received her Ph.D. in Astronomy and Planetary Science & Exploration from Western University. She is an Adjunct Research Professor at Western University’s Faculty of Education. She communicates her passion for space science and technology with students and public as an Educational Outreach and Communications Specialist at Western University’s Institute for Earth and Space Exploration. She develops and leads classroom workshops and camps, produces podcasts, organizes public events, trains educators, and acts as a science consultant for children's books. She conducts research in the Faculty of Education understand and gauge the engagement of the participants as well as their outlook on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) careers and interest in STEM fields. She has co-founded Women of Color in STEAMM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics and Medicine) in Canada in 2018.
