Kevin Holmes is Managing Director, Social Innovation Lab at Algonquin College. In 2018 he founded the 1st Social Innovation Lab in Canada’s college system and launched SLiDE (Service Learning in Design & Engineering) an initiative supporting the social sector in the area of digital technology.
He is passionate about community and leveraging the significant public trust held within our post-secondary institutions towards the greater public good. The Social Innovation Lab has a mission of empowering our community by sharing student creativity and technological knowledge to drive social change. The foundation of the work revolves around the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals for 2030.
Beyond the lab, Kevin serves as the Co-Chair of the CICan ImpAct Project Working Group on Social Entrepreneurship, a pan-Canadian initiative funded through the McConnell Foundation and UNESCO. Kevin also oversees health technology related applied research activities in the Office of Applied Research and Innovation at Algonquin College.
