Panel Organized by: Damien Chalaud, The Neuro (Montreal Neurological Institute & Hospital) / Neuro - Institut et hôpitaux neurologiques de Montréal

Open Science is changing every aspect of the scientific method to become more open, inclusive and interdisciplinary. It is a disruptive shift that affects the whole ‘business cycle’ of doing science and research. The trends are irreversible and they have already grown well beyond individual projects across many disciplines within the research space.

Using The Neuro and the Structural Genomics Consortium as frontier open research case studies, the panel will present the methodologies, the infrastructure for collaboration and the governance that have been employed, and the resulting outcomes and benefits. They will explain how open science can spur innovation and create economic benefits even without a foundational patent.
